about

I wrote this song in 2014/2015. It's about feeling like your life is insignificant in the grand scheme of the universe and how technology and social media affect that feeling for better or for worse. 5 or 6 years later and I think it's still relevant, and it's cool to be posting this song on the internet where it will exist forever (or least until the internet no longer exists). I hope you enjoy it!

lyrics

tweet my obituary
take a trip to the cemetery
I hope 140 characters is enough to do me justice
tweet my obituary
take a trip to the cemetery to see my grave

here lies Jeremy of New Jersey
he didn’t live to see 23
facebook was the cause of death
stared so much he forgot his last breath (last breath)
ironic that technology
eventually got the best of me
in more ways than one
it’s more fatal than a loaded gun

use helvetica for my epigraph
make some sort of reference to Zach Braff
because I’m from the garden state
only person at the funeral who is late (I’m late)
for my eulogy just play a movie
Carl Sagan can explain why science is groovy
people in the crowd will be wondering why
you need the universe to make apple pie

it says: “LOL send out an SOS
I’m SOL cause I’m way too stressed
from trying to impress
the people I don’t care for
IMO it’s not worth the fight
LMAO now I’m dead tonight
I should’ve stopped the stupid diction
I wonder how much the undertaker charges
for this tiny inscription"
